Italian born Massimo Leardini has lived and worked in Norway since 1987. With his fascination for the nordic light and nature, he has portrayed people in a harmoniously and natural way for many years, resulting in books and exhibitions.
When Leardini displays his pictures at Modul 35 with the exhibition Over Here and Back There, there are excerpts from his projects In Between, Scandinavian, Catarsi and images that have not been shown before. In Leardini's projects In Between and Scandinavian one can find reference from classical tradition. Through its visual language and aesthetic sense, the human body is portrayed in harmony with the Scandinavian landscape. With the book Catarsi, Leardini returns to his roots. The book is of a more abstract and impressionistic nature than other works Leardini is known for. The images in Catarsi form a love poem for a forgotten or familiar hometown.
